Jelly is a casual place for freelancers, entrepreneurs, etc. to meet and work together. We meet at Noble Tree on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 12pm-4pm.
What is Jelly Chicago?
Working at home has a lot of benefits, but social interaction is not one of them. Jelly is a biweekly gathering of freelancers, entrepreneurs, telecommuters and other professionals with flexible working arrangements. Anyone who wants to meet cool people, get some work done and have some fun is welcome.
Designers, developers, writers, artists, entrepreneurs, marketing folks... Jelly professionals are a varied bunch. Some people come once a month, some people are regulars.

Jelly pal Jason Goodrich is a public relations dynamo. Dude was on ABC News with Diane Sawyer last night, talking about coworking and the freelance lifestyle. Nice cameo of Andy Angelos as well at OfficePort!
Jelly Emeritus Rishi Shah recently moved to San Francisco, and has quickly made friends. He’s helping Jelly founder Amit Gupta with Jelly SF, and they’ve recently moved to a weekly model similar to Chicago’s. Last week, Rishi posted a nice write-up on how Jelly Chicago was able to develop a thriving community. Check it out when you have a chance – it might be useful for other organizations as well.
Jelly members Sean Corbett (@stcorbett), Andy Angelos (@andyangelos) and ZiadHussain (@ziadbc) have put together a “mini startup fund” that provides entrepreneurs with $1000 and coworking space (courtesy of OfficePort) to start their own venture. Applications are officially open today – learn more at http://www.scalewell.com.
"This group was a complete volunteer effort that made a huge difference in other people's lives. Jelly helped a lot of people survive the isolation of freelancing."
