WinkVid goes live

WinkVid, an online video dating project from Jelly member Jake Lumetta, just went live last night. WinkVid is like speed dating, where you meet up to 10 other people for 4 minutes each via video chat. They’ve been working on it since SocialDevCamp last November, and it looks like the finished product is pretty polished. They’ve received some really good feedback during their beta sessions and are confident they’re onto something pretty awesome. If you’re single, do yourself a favor and check it out!

A Space Apart goes live

Jelly member Jason Goodrich, in partnership with Noble Tree owner Phil Tadros and his design agency Doejo, have just launched A Space Apart, a software platform for cafes and other establishments to build their community of customers.

Initially launching at Noble Tree and Dollop, the service provides a place to learn about fellow patrons, vote on music, post advertisements or announcements, and more. Congrats to Jason, Phil, Darren and the rest of the Doejo team!

WinkVid Beta Event February 21st

Jelly member Jake Lumetta’s new startup WinkVid is hosting a beta event on February 21st. WinkVid is a live-video speed dating site where you meet up to 20 other singles in one night. Their first “WinkUp” starts on Feb 21st at 8PM CST. It’s completely free to participate, and should be a lot of fun.

David Kadavy launches nom.ms

Jelly member David Kadavy has just launched nom.ms, a simple site that lets you “tweet what you eat.” Using your cell phone, you post pictures of food you’re eating at restaurants, at home, etc. to Twitter. A cool way to see what your friends are eating, keep track of your favorite foods, etc.

David Kadavy starts DIY-MBA

Jelly member David Kadavy has started a DIY-MBA group consisting of 6 members, including Jelly regulars Sean Johnson, Rishi Shah and Ziad Hussain. The group meets once a month to discuss topics related to entrepreneurship, share insights, and get advice. The group also frequently brings in speakers to talk about issues related to business, like accounting, legal concerns, marketing and business development.
