Hey everyone –

As you might have heard, Noble Tree Coffee closed it’s doors last week. For tomorrow, and until further notice, Jelly will meet on Wednesdays at the Digital Intent offices in the West Loop. We have wifi, FREE coffee, a printer, and beer.

Jelly Evanston no more

Coworking Evanston has decided to close its doors, which means Jelly Evanston no longer has a home. We’re exploring our options and will keep you posted.

Jelly Chicago will continue to meet on Monday afternoons at Noble Tree from noon-4pm. We’ll see you this week!

First ScaleWell winner announced

ScaleWell, a project organized by Jelly members Sean Corbett, Andy Angelos and Ziad Hussain, had their launch party last night and announced the first winner of the project. Scalewell provides grants of up to $1000 to ventures looking for early seed capital.

The first round had 42 submissions from entrepreneurs, which were narrowed down to five finalists, including Jelly member Jake Lumetta’s WinkVid. The winner ended up being Unatronics, a manufacturer of minimalist, retro electronic musical instruments, founded by Michael Una. Congrats to Michael, and to the ScaleWell team on a successful launch!

Jelly member Patty Huber is leading a volunteer trip to New Orleans January 30 – February 7 with the volunteer organization One Brick to help rebuild homes with the St. Bernard Project.

Anyone 21+ is welcome to come and there will be other volunteers from all over the country in this group. The fee is $200 and covers housing, project materials, and breakfast and lunch M-F. For details and to sign-up visit their Google Group page or email Patty.
